These terms explain how Charlio works: the plans, the minutes, the free trial and how to cancel.
Who offers Charlio
Charlio is a voice assistant for iPhone offered by Bruno Champion, as an individual. If you have questions, write to bruno@charlio.app.
Plans
Charlio is paid for with an auto-renewing subscription, through Apple’s in-app purchases. At launch, the price is the same in every country. The use of OpenAI is included in the subscription.
- Basic: 9.99 USD a month, with 100 minutes.
- Plus: 19.99 USD a month, with 250 minutes.
- Annual payment: both plans can also be paid yearly, with 2 months free.
Minute pack
If you need more, you can buy a pack of 4.99 USD with 60 minutes, as a one-time purchase. Its minutes do not expire and are used after the plan’s.
Free trial
The free trial lasts 7 days, capped at 20 minutes of conversation.
How minutes are counted
- Every minute of a call counts, whether you start it or Charlio does.
- Charlio’s work in the browser while you are not on the call does not count, with a limit of 50 tasks a month.
- The plan’s minutes reset every month and do not roll over.
When the minutes run out
- In Home you will see a notice on reaching 80% and 100%, and Charlio mentions it at the start of the call.
- During the call, Charlio warns you when 2 minutes are left and when 30 seconds are left.
- On reaching zero, Charlio says goodbye and hangs up, with no extra time.
- Afterwards, the app offers you the minute pack or an upgrade to Plus.
Charges, cancellation and refunds
Apple handles all charges. To cancel your subscription, go to the Settings on your iPhone. Refunds are also handled through Apple.
